What is it that you are seeking? Is it peace of mind, clarity, a way to deal with anxious or depressive thoughts and feelings? Sometimes all we need is the right guidance to get out of our own way and to get on the right course of needed change. This could mean learning coping strategies, pivoting your perspective, recognizing defeating thoughts, becoming aware of learned behaviors or ways of adapting to the world that no longer serve you. Therapy gives us the opportunity to reflect on these experiences and interpretations of the world to better serve us.
I have been a therapist for over 20 years having the opportunity to work with people of all ages and backgrounds in different settings. I have also been trained in several modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, psycho dynamics, strengths based therapy and most recently putting focus on Relational Life Therapy. I also take from my own life experience in my marriage and co-raising two teenage children.
My main focus is working with men in developing an acceptance for who they are and figuring out who they want to be. As men, especially in these times, it is often difficult to know how to relate to our partner. There are many men out there who grew up without their father or had a poor relationship with him harvesting a great deal of resentment and pain. This spills into our relationships with women and our children. I’ve worked with a lot of men in couples work, group work and individual therapy in surfacing these pains and eventually gaining levels of healing, acceptance and maturity in order to move forward.
With all that said I look forward to the opportunity to work together to discover barriers and move ahead.
